Simone started her veterinary nursing career in 1997 at a 24hr emergency and surgical referral clinic where she worked for four years and gained her Advanced Certificate in Veterinary Nursing. Simone travelled around Australia in 2001 and did locum nursing work in Darwin.
Simone has worked as a head nurse in a clinic in Melbourne and has undertaken a certificate in Wildlife Care and operated a registered wildlife shelter where she looked after animals such as possums, kangaroos, lizards and birds.
Simone completed her Diploma in Veterinary Practice Management shortly before going on maternity leave and with her husband Wade now have two boys, Ethan and William. They are also the proud parents of a senior cat, Tyger, a sweet Cavalier King Charles named Beau as well as her son’s Bearded Dragon Pluto After her maternity leave, she joined the Thornbury Veterinary Hospital team as Practice Manager in 2014.
Simone and her family travelled Australia again in 2020 and has returned to the clinic as the Business Manager.
Georgie joined the Thornbury Vet Hospital team in January 2019. Georgie graduated from The University of Melbourne in 2010 after completing a Bachelor of Science majoring in Animal Science.
Georgie began her nursing career in 2012 in a small animal practice in Brunswick East. She then went on to become Practice Manager of a veterinary clinic in Fitzroy North in 2014. Georgie completed her Certificate IV in Veterinary Nursing in 2015 and went on to complete an Advanced Small Animal Diploma in 2018.
She had two Labradors growing up which strengthen her desire to make working with animals her profession. Georgie has a passion for helping educate owners on how best to care for their pet, anaesthesia and behaviour.
In her spare time Georgie enjoys keeping fit and active and playing aunty to her sister’s Dalmatian Kobe.
Georgie started at Thornbury Veterinary Hospital as a Veterinary Nurse and then became Practice Manager and is now the General Manager
Caitlin was welcomed to the Thornbury Veterinary Hospital team in 2019. Caitlin is a senior nurse with more than 6yrs of experience and also having completed her Certificate IV in Veterinary Nursing.
Caitlin loves all aspects of her job with her particular interests all things canine behaviour related and has been studying with Delta canine behaviour and training to further her skills
In addition Caitlin has 2 beautiful chihuahua dogs named Pat and Polly
Shania joined the team at Thornbury Veterinary Hospital in February 2021 and couldn't be more thrilled about it. Shania started with us as a trainee Veterinary Nurse and is now a fully qualified Certificate IV Veterinary Nurse.
From a very young age, Shania always knew she wanted to be working in a field where she could help animals; they have always held a special place in her heart.
Shania has two beautiful Cats of her own that she absolutely adores, one being a 14-year-old rescue named Fluffy and the other being a lively 1-year-old Ragdoll called Tokyo. She also has a gorgeous Golden Retriever named Hudson. When Shania is not working, she thoroughly enjoys baking lots of desserts and unwinding with a good Netflix series.
Rachel joined the Thornbury Veterinary Hospital team in June 2021 and has completed a Certificate lV in veterinary Nursing. Rachel has been nursing for 6 years in small animal-based practices.
Rachel thoroughly enjoys developing her skills and knowledge in surgical nursing and her areas of interest include anaesthetics, x-rays and pathology.
Dani started her Veterinary Nursing in 2020 and has loved every second it! Learning and understanding animal behaviour is something that is really important to her.
Dani has wanted to work with animals ever since she was a little girl, always feeling like she had a connection with them.
At home, Dani has 3 very spoilt pets - Duke (German Shepherd), Pongo (Maltese x Shih tzu) and Romeo (Persian Cat). In her spare time she loves to take the dogs to the park or for walks or just lie down with them on the couch watching her favourite Disney movies.
Dani couldn’t be happier continuing her journey at Thornbury Veterinary Hospital and has loved every minute. She feels very thankful for the opportunity to allow her to do what she love and to learn from such a talented and passionate group of people.
Katherine joined the Thornbury Veterinary Hospital team in February 2023 as a senior nurse, with more than 7 years experience in small-animal general practice.
With a background in Environmental Science, Katherine also holds her Certificate IV in Veterinary Nursing and has a special interest in surgery, patient care and wildlife.
In her spare time she enjoys getting into the outdoors, sitting down with a good book and spending time with her two cats Mao Mao and Vader
Cynthia joined the Thornbury Vets team as a Reception Nurse in early 2025. With a strong background in customer service, she has always been passionate about working with animals. In the future, she hopes to complete her studies in veterinary nursing. Cynthia loves not only ensuring that the furry friends visiting the clinic receive the best care but also making sure their owners feel welcomed and supported. Eager to expand her knowledge of animal care, she has thoroughly enjoyed being part of the amazing team at Thornbury Vets. Outside of work, Cynthia shares her love for animals with her little Jack Russell, Theo.
Tess joined the team at Thornbury Vets as a Trainee Nurse in 2024 after completing her placement with us. After completing her Bachelor of Science in 2021, Tess wanted a career within animal care that was more hands-on and fell in love with nursing. She will complete her Certificate IV of Veterinary Nursing at the end of 2024.
Tess has one cat of her own, Olive who is an 8 year old rescue girl. When Tess isn’t at work she loves binging a good teen drama and making jewellery.
Zoe joined the Thornbury veterinary hospital team in 2024 as a kennel hand. She is currently still at high school, but has enjoyed the opportunity and experience to work with such a supportive and knowledgeable team. Zoe has two beloved pets at home, an elderly (but spritely) dog named Mitzi, and a new addition to the family, a ginger kitten named Sunny. In her spare time Zoe likes to spend time with friends and being creative.
